Introducing Mastra Templates

Templates are pre-built Mastra projects that give you a starting point for common agentic use cases. Whether you're building an agent, workflow, or AI-powered app, templates help you skip the boilerplate and get straight to building. Our templates library features ready-to-use projects for real-world AI applications.
Want to build a chatbot that answers questions about your PDFs? There's a template for that. Need to convert natural language queries into SQL? We've got you covered. Looking to create a deep research agent that browses the web and summarizes findings? Start with our research template (pictured below).
We also have templates on chatting with CSVs, browser agents, docs chatbots, and we’re launching more over the coming weeks.
If you used Gatsby before, you'll feel right at home—we called these "starters" at Gatsby. Now we're bringing that same developer experience to Mastra.
How it Works

- Run the create command with the template name
- Start building immediately

We're also thrilled to announce MASTRA.BUILD: Templates, our second virtual hackathon focused on building Mastra Templates! We know our current templates library only scratches the surface of what’s possible. That’s why we’re inviting you to get creative and contribute templates of your own.
Come build templates for everything from personal productivity tools to MCP templates and B2B applications.
What to expect:
- Cash prizes, copies of Principles of Building AI Agents, feature slots in our templates library, and much more to be announced soon
- Judges from our partners including Chroma, Arcade, WorkOS, Smithery, and Recall
- Livestreams and hands-on AI engineering sessions

The kickoff ceremony will be livestreamed on Monday, July 28th at noon PT where we'll announce submission guidelines and all the details you need to participate.
